The Greenville Vegan Potluck and Supper Club Pod in South Carolina had 40 people attend their September Potluck. The featured speaker, Donna Darnell Porter, a former pop tarts and Krispy Kreme doughnut enjoyer, shared her story about going WFPB. Donna’s nutrition journey begun when her mother was diagnosed with liver cancer and died nine days later. In 2003, her husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Donna asked the very educated doctor how to improve her husband’s diet, to which she received a very uneducated answer. This led Donna to study the effects of food on the body, and began her journey towards health. Donna has launched a nutritional coaching business where she encourages people to “eat the rainbow” and to avoid oil, sugar, and processed food.

Original Submission received from Nicky Vanvalkenburgh, Group Leader of the Greenville Vegan Potluck and Supper Club Pod in Greenville, South Carolina.
